The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tsuruta manages to avoid it.
Tsuruta swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Mahones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tsuruta swings for the body but Mahones moves out of range.
Mahones throws the left hand but Tsuruta avoids the punch easily.

Mahones loads up on a big right hand but Tsuruta slips the punch.

Mahones is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tsuruta is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mahones to the mat. Mahones regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Tsuruta looks up at the clock and then as Mahones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tsuruta smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mahones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tsuruta scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Mahones is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Tsuruta can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
