Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trey Dingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Igor Alves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trey Dingo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Alves!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dingo throws out the jab.

Dingo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dingo thows a huge punch but Alves dodges it nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Alves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dingo is defending against the submission attempts here by Alves.
Dingo tries to roll over but Alves keeps him under control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Alves drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dingo looking to control.
Alves looking to pass the guard.
Alves should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dingo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dingo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dingo doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Dingo wants to sweep but no luck.
Dingo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Dingo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Alves with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dingo lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dingo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Alves trying to hold on to Dingo's head to control him but Dingo postures up.

Dingo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Alves doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dingo.
Alves regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dingo trying to control but Alves is working from the bottom.
Alves will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Dingo being controlled here momentarily.
Dingo lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Dingo scoring with punches to the head and body.

Alves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dingo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trey Dingo will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dingo lands with a shot to the body.
Alves tries to clinch up.
Dingo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Alves counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dingo!
Dingo is trying to stand.
Dingo is desperately trying to improve his position but Alves has a good base and remains in mount.
Alves is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dingo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Dingo looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Alves looking to break Dingo's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Dingo remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Alves will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dingo trying to get back to his feet but Alves is in full control for now.

Dingo turns into Alves and is now in his guard.
Dingo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alves works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dingo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Alves's guard.
Alves is trying to control the position but Dingo postures up.

Dingo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Dingo shoots in looking for a takedown. Alves tries to sprawl out of it but Dingo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alves manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Alves closes the distance and clinches.

Dingo jumps guard.
Dingo working a defensive guard but Alves passes into half guard.
Dingo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Alves prevents Dingo from improving his position.

Dingo looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Alves stands up and beckons Dingo to join him on the feet.
Dingo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Alves counters with a head kick.

Dingo lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Alves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Alves decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dingo's guard.
Igor Alves has got the better of the ground game so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dingo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alves is one step ahead there.
Alves throwing strikes from guard but Dingo blocks nicely.

Alves controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Dingo has his feet on Alves's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Dingo moves out of range of the body kick.

Dingo shoots in and bounces Alves off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Alves is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dingo is controlling him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dingo postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Igor Alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Dingo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Alves has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alves there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dingo lands a head kick!
Dingo throws a hook to the side of Alves's head but Alves sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dingo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alves swivels and escapes.

Alves moves into the clinch.
Alves stops a takedown attempt from Dingo.
Alves drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dingo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Alves can't get the takedown.
Alves prevents Dingo from breaking the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Alves fails to pull guard.
Trey Dingo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Alves.
Alves looking to stall.
Dingo is trying to break free.
Dingo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Alves has him pressed against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dingo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Alves as the two fighters clinch.
Alves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dingo just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dingo is looking to break free of the clinch but Alves has double underhooks.

Dingo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dingo misses with a kick to the body

and Alves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dingo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Alves lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Dingo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dingo is striking from the bottom but Alves uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Dingo wants to get back to his feet.
Dingo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Alves trying to pass the guard but Dingo defending well.
Alves seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dingo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dingo scores with a decent looking hook.

Alves gets caught flat footed, as Dingo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Alves is looking to stand up but Dingo isn't so interested in that idea.
Dingo cracks Alves with a solid left hand.
Alves trying to keep a closed guard but Dingo is proving a slippery customer.

Dingo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Alves bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alves prevents Dingo from escaping the position.
Dingo is looking to regain half guard here but Alves keeps moving and retains side control.
Alves trying to control the action but Dingo is working from the bottom.
Dingo misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Alves tries to move to mount but Dingo blocks the move with his legs.

Dingo explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A combination from Dingo does no damage.
Alves tries to clinch up.
Trey Dingo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alves throws a body kick that misses.
Dingo misses with the combination.
Nice sprawl there from Dingo as Alves shoots in.
Alves fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dingo throws a predictable looking body shot

and Alves counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alves.
Dingo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Alves.
Dingo blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Dingo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trey Dingo.
I think Dingo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
