Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remington Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Belfort!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Remington Sanders !
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders wants to clinch but Belfort slips to the side

and Belfort counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Belfort is working for a submission of some sort.
Belfort thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sanders 's head.

Belfort is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Belfort seems to be working for a kimura but Sanders defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanders pushes Belfort off looking to stand but Belfort dives back in and keeps control.

Belfort wants to finish this one by submission but Sanders is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Belfort.
Belfort can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sanders is looking to escape.
Belfort definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Belfort wants to take Sanders 's back but he can't do it this time.

Belfort has control of Sanders 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sanders regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Belfort tries to control but Sanders wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Belfort working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Sanders slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Sanders really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Belfort. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Belfort is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sanders doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Belfort.

Sanders has one foot on Belfort's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belfort is defended easily by Sanders .
Belfort has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Belfort there as he acknowledges the shot.
Belfort circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sanders tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Horrible takedown attempt by Belfort or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanders , which made it look bad.
Sanders tries to counter by closing the distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belfort is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Belfort is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sanders can do to turn this around?

Sanders has managed to clinch.
Belfort is trying to break the clinch but Sanders is controlling him.

Belfort has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sanders can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mike Belfort overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sanders wants to stand but Belfort is controlling his posture from full guard.

Belfort is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanders defends well.
Sanders must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sanders avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sanders wants to stand but Belfort has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Sanders stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Good exchange - Sanders coming out on top.
Belfort fails with the takedown

and Sanders moves into the clinch.

Sanders goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Belfort wants a takedown but no success here.
Sanders digs a right hand underneath Belfort's ribcage. Belfort let out a lung full of air as it connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Remington Sanders showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Sanders paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


Belfort is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Sanders lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Belfort head around and knocks him out cold! Sanders hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Remington Sanders !
