Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hari Kunwar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dion Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kunwar comes to the cage accompanied by The Kills - Future Starts Slow. Dion Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hari Kunwar's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hari Kunwar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dion Jones!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a hook

and Kunwar counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.
Jones controls Kunwar momentarily but Kunwar frees himself.
Kunwar wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.

Kunwar drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jones dives on top into guard.


Kunwar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kunwar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kunwar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kunwar is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard.

Kunwar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kunwar wants to get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kunwar moves into full guard.
Kunwar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Kunwar seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kunwar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Kunwar's legs - danger averted.

Kunwar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jones wants to stand but Kunwar is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kunwar trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kunwar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

and Kunwar counters with a takedown into side control.
Jones can't do much from the bottom here.

Jones tries to clinch but Kunwar moves out of range.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Kunwar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kunwar has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kunwar's guard.

Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kunwar throws his legs up looking for a submission but Jones uses it to pass to side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Hari Kunwar will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dion Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kunwar dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Kunwar from controlling successfully.

Kunwar drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!

Kunwar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
Kunwar wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Kunwar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kunwar looking for submissions off his back.

Kunwar wants to control but Jones passes into side.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Kunwar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kunwar is trying to work for a sweep but Jones has mounted him!
Kunwar tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
Kunwar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kunwar is looking to escape.

Kunwar is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kunwar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kunwar really wants to buck Jones off and get back to his feet.
Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kunwar tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
Kunwar is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.
Kunwar tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control.
Jones controlling the position easily from mount.
Kunwar tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dion Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kunwar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jones has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kunwar but great work by Jones.

Kunwar is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kunwar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Dion Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
