Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rekis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zenone Impallomeni!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rekis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Impallomeni.
Impallomeni scores with a jab.

Rekis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rekis working the ground and pound from side control.

Rekis goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Impallomeni has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rekis but great work by Impallomeni.
Impallomeni is trying to ground and pound but Rekis uses the momentary lack of control by Impallomeni to regain half guard.
Impallomeni scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Impallomeni throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Impallomeni lands a couple of elbows.
Rekis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Impallomeni throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Impallomeni stands and throws Rekis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rekis on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Impallomeni is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rekis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rekis tries to bench press Impallomeni off him but Impallomeni keeps the position.
Rekis can't do much from the bottom here.
Rekis is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Impallomeni off and has taken his back!
Rekis is trying to stick to Impallomeni's back but Impallomeni is turning into Rekis. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rekis's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Impallomeni.
Impallomeni in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Impallomeni throws a strike but Rekis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rekis throws a strike aimed at the side of Impallomeni's head but Impallomeni avoids it well.
Impallomeni tries to buck Rekis off but Rekis is having none of it.
Impallomeni keeps trying to improve his position.
Rekis landing strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Impallomeni is trying to get back to half guard.
Impallomeni is still trying to improve position.
Rekis tries to score with some ground and pound. Impallomeni controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Rekis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Impallomeni keeps working.

Impallomeni wants to control but Rekis is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Nice strikes from Rekis there.
Impallomeni is looking to control Rekis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Impallomeni avoid being mounted?
Rekis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Impallomeni does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Impallomeni tries to roll over but Rekis keeps him under control.
Rekis working over Impallomeni with some ground and pound. Impallomeni looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.


Impallomeni is rocked!

Rekis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Impallomeni is still in real trouble! Can Rekis finish him?
Impallomeni is looking for a sweep. Rekis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Impallomeni trying to control but Rekis postures up.
Impallomeni seems to have recovered his senses.
Impallomeni on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rekis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Impallomeni is just riding it out for now. Rekis eventually gives up the hold.
Rekis lands a big elbow - Impallomeni is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Rekis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Rekis!
