Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Illman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Scott!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott has a takedown stuffed.
A head kick misses from Scott.
No luck for Scott with that takedown attempt.
Scott shoots in and drives through. Illman sprawls well.
Aaron Illman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Scott.
Illman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Scott forces Illman back against the cage and clinches.
Illman is trying to break the clinch but Scott has him pressed against the cage.

Scott works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Scott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Illman trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Scott postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Illman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Scott, into his guard.
Scott wants to sweep but no luck.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Illman is working Scott over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Scott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Scott looks gassed!
Illman wants to pass the guard but Scott is keeping the position.
Illman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Scott working a defensive guard but Illman passes into half guard.
Illman is trying to control the action in half guard but Scott is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Scott moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Illman postures up in Scott's guard and throws a big left but Scott blocks it.
Illman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Scott pulls Illman in close to prevent any damage.
Illman prevents Scott from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Illman wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.

Scott has his feet on Illman's thighs here. He's pushed Illman off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Illman screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
