PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dane Harding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole has chosen Wonderfull Days as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dane Harding!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Cole!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harding looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cole shoots and misses
and Harding counters with a thumping low kick.

and Harding counters with a shoot takedown. Cole fights it but they end up in guard.
Cole doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Harding stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cole swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Harding postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Harding has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harding's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Cole has an active guard here but Harding has managed to pass into half guard.

Harding is looking for a kimura but Cole is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Harding to get the leverage.
Harding perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Harding wants to stand up but Cole is controlling the position.
Harding prevents Cole from improving his position.
Harding is tying to control. Cole wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Cole looking for submissions off his back.
Harding trying to control the action but Cole is working from the bottom.
Harding perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cole feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Harding has a closed guard, preventing Cole from standing up.
Cole throws a strike but Harding rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cole looks gassed!
Cole is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Cole pushes a forearm under Harding's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Harding is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
