Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Corpuz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Jensen!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jensen connects with a single shot there.

Corpuz scores with a takedown into Jensen's guard.
Corpuz sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Corpuz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Corpuz passes into half guard.
Corpuz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Corpuz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Corpuz moves nicely into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Corpuz controlling from side mount.
Corpuz throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Corpuz looks up at the clock and then as Jensen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Corpuz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Corpuz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
You can see the frustration on Jensen's face as Corpuz controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Corpuz dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Corpuz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Corpuz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Corpuz is working Jensen over with some ground and pound from side control.
Corpuz advances to mount.
Corpuz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Corpuz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Corpuz looking to secure an arm triangle but Jensen defends it well.

Jensen tries to buck Corpuz off but he can't manage it.

Corpuz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A nice elbow there by Corpuz.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Corpuz is working for a guillotine from mount but Jensen frees his head quite easily.
Corpuz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Jensen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Corpuz walks into a left hand.
Jensen scores with a jab to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Jensen misses its intended target.

Jensen looks to land a left hand but Corpuz moved out of range nicely.
Corpuz throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Corpuz misses with a body kick.
Ryan Jensen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Corpuz misses with a low kick.
Corpuz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Corpuz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Corpuz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A nice elbow there by Corpuz.
Corpuz controlling the position easily from mount.
Corpuz scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jensen?
Jensen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Corpuz quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Corpuz but it's paid off an Jensen is forced to tap! Nice work by Corpuz.
