PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Everette Frye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fero JOzKO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JOzKO has chosen sman as his entrance music. JOzKO has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Fero JOzKO has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fero JOzKO!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

JOzKO looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Frye has one foot on JOzKO's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

JOzKO fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Frye sprawls well initially but JOzKO persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Frye kicks off JOzKO and gets to his feet.

Frye postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Frye slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

JOzKO is working an open guard so Frye takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Frye throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. JOzKO was covering up waiting for the punch and Frye finishes the takedown easily into guard.
JOzKO is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Frye dives into side control.

Frye decides to stand back up. Frye steps back and let's JOzKO get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Frye lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

JOzKO is trying to stand.

Frye perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
JOzKO on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Frye decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Frye misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Frye feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
