Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Douglass Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scotty Red!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Red clinches up against the cage.
Red stops a takedown attempt from Henderson.
Henderson jumps guard but Red turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Red has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Red wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Red prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Douglass Henderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Red working hard to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Red gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Henderson.

Red pushes Henderson off but Henderson dives into side control.
Red takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Red really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Henderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Red is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Henderson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Red is trying to get back to half guard.
Red tries to escape but Henderson is in control.

Henderson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Henderson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Henderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Red wants to control but Henderson postures up.
Red is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Henderson tries for a kimura but Red is defending well.
Red is looking for a sweep.
Henderson is chipping away with strikes.
Henderson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Red tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Red is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Henderson controlling the positon.

Henderson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Red for as long as he can get away with.
Henderson tries to get the hooks in deep but Red pushed the leg off.
Henderson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Henderson is landing with strikes from the back.
Red just trying to survive but Henderson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Henderson lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Red trying to get back to his feet but Henderson is in full control for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Red lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Red shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Henderson eats them both and turns towards Red to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Douglass Henderson has been cut.
A combination from Red does no damage.
Scotty Red seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Red throws a leg kick but Henderson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
It looked like Henderson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Henderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Red can do to turn this around?
Red throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Henderson looks to land a combination but Red avoids it well.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Red! But no joy.
Red throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Henderson counters with a nice body kick.

Red swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Henderson tries to counter by clinching up but Red breaks away and moves out of range.

Red has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Henderson blocks an elbow strike.

Red wants to break free but Henderson has control.
Red gets underhooks to prevent Henderson's takedown attempt.

Red pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Red works Henderson's body with a nice hook.

Red drives through and clinches with Henderson against the cage.
Red wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Henderson has him pressed against the cage.
Red stalling in the clinch but Henderson improves position.

Henderson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Red regains guard.

Red manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Henderson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Henderson stops Red from getting back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Henderson seems content to control.
Nice strikes from Henderson there.
Red scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Henderson manages to mount him!
Red is trying to stand.
Henderson working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Red squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Red is breathing heavily.
A nice elbow there by Henderson.
Red is trying to stand up.

Henderson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Red keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Red is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Henderson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Red can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Henderson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Red?

You get the feeling that Red really doesn't like being in this position too much.

BOOM! Henderson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Red throws a right and a left that both miss.
Scotty Red is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A bone on bone clash there as Henderson blocks the leg kick.
Red throws a nice looking combination but Henderson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Henderson throws a big counter combination but Red scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Henderson dodges the punch combination from Red.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Henderson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Red sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Henderson clinches up with Red and pushes him back against the cage.
Henderson is looking to take this one to the mat.
Red tries to break free but Henderson pushes him back against the cage.
Red has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Douglass Henderson will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Henderson moves out of range of the strikes.
Red stuns Henderson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Red closes the distance and clinches.
Henderson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Red gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Henderson keeps control of Red as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A solid leg kick lands there for Red.

A combination from Red does no damage.
Henderson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Henderson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Red misses with the combination.
Red throws a combination that misses

and Henderson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Red!
Red takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Red wants to get back to his feet but Henderson is dominant here and he's now got Red's back!

Red is trying to get back to his feet but Henderson has full control of the position and if anything, Red has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Henderson is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Red won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Henderson off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Douglass Henderson!
Scotty Red spoke after the fight, saying 'Ill be back'.
