Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Lombarge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jojo Banzai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jojo Banzai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Viktor Lombarge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jojo Banzai!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lombarge decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Banzai has one foot on Lombarge's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Banzai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lombarge sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Banzai somewhat.

Banzai closes the distance and clinches.
Banzai lands a body shot in the clinch.

Banzai tries to pull guard but Lombarge forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Banzai shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lombarge defends it nicely.
Viktor Lombarge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jojo Banzai.

Banzai closes the distance and clinches.
Banzai throws a punch but it's blocked by Lombarge.
Banzai's coach down at Fight Factory was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Banzai's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Banzai lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Banzai has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lombarge after a bit of a struggle.
Lombarge is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Banzai to keep the fight standing.

Banzai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lombarge scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lombarge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lombarge is nestled in close to Banzai, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Banzai has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lombarge is working away from the top position though.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Viktor Lombarge will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Banzai forces Lombarge back against the cage and clinches.

Banzai breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice takedown defense from Lombarge. No joy for Banzai on that attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lombarge looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Banzai with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Banzai is still in real trouble! Can Lombarge finish him?
Lombarge is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Banzai is hurt! He's hurt bad - Lombarge fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Banzai from any more punishment! Congratulations to Lombarge! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Viktor Lombarge!
