Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pheonix Level (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edd Palakiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Level throws a body punch but Palakiko moves out of range.

Palakiko shoots in and gets a takedown into Level's guard.

Palakiko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Level. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Level gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Level feints a jab promting Palakiko to slip. Level then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Palakiko slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Oooooh!!! Level has knocked Palakiko down with a huge combo! Level steps away and waves a wobbly Palakiko back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Level working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palakiko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Palakiko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Palakiko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Level escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Palakiko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Palakiko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Level has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Palakiko has managed to get both his arms back between Level's legs - danger averted.

Palakiko decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Level throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Palakiko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Palakiko closes the distance and clinches up with Level, looking for a takedown. Palakiko pushes Level against the cage but Level circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Level. No joy for Palakiko on that attempt.

Level fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's time! Level's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Palakiko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Level's waist but Level gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Palakiko off to one side.

Palakiko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Level looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Level is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Palakiko can do to turn this around?

Pheonix Level has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edd Palakiko.

Palakiko shoots for a double leg takedown but Level sprawls well. He's pushed Palakiko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Level lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Palakiko fails to land the takedown.
Level throws a right and a left that both miss.
Palakiko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Level defends it well.
Palakiko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Level sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Palakiko somewhat.

Level throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Pheonix Level seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Level throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Level connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Palakiko tumbling to the canvas! Level pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Palakiko was done - good stoppage!
