Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joel Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micheal Bates!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ron Honeybunn and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates circles away from the clinch attempt.
Castro wants to clinch up but Bates keeps it at a distance.

Castro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Castro could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bates lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Bates has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Castro's face.

Well Bates has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
