PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Robbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Griffin Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin Heath told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesus Robbo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Griffin Heath!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Robbo.
Jesus Robbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Robbo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Heath's head.

Robbo has managed to clinch.
Robbo lands a left hand.
Heath looking to stall.

Heath breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Robbo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Heath throws a nice head kick!
Heath swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
An attempted straight right counter from Robbo misses the target.
Heath's coach down at 99% Fight Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Heath's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Robbo is looking to land body kicks.
Robbo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Heath pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Heath walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Griffin Heath has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Robbo scores with a jab. Heath acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Robbo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Robbo slips a jab and a cross from Heath.
Heath looks to land a body kick but Robbo moved away.
Robbo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A solid leg kick lands there for Robbo.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Heath avoids a kick to the body.

Robbo has Heath up against the cage in a clinch.
Robbo lands with a short shot to the head.
Robbo creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Heath with a big uppercut! Heath tries to clinch up but Robbo pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Heath to the mat! Heath covers up and Robbo unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jesus Robbo!
