Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buster Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buster Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Mason!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Allen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mason takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Allen drops Mason with a left and a right! Oh, Mason is hurt - Allen dives into side control looking to finish!


Mason is rocked!


It looks like Mark Mason has been cut.
Allen working away.
Mason is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Allen off and has taken his back!
Mason is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Allen wants to get back to his feet.
Allen looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Mason lands an elbow to the side of the head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

I looks like Mason might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mark Mason just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Allen tries a head kick but it misses.

Mason closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mason lands in his opponent's guard.
Allen is trying to keep Mason in close.
Mason slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mason wants to pass the guard but Allen is keeping the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Buster Allen will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Allen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Allen swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mason.
Mason uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Allen.

Mason closes the distance and clinches.
Allen is trying to break free.
Mason throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Allen blocks it with crossed arms.
Mason leaning his opponent against the cage.
Allen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mason content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Allen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mason gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Allen can't break the clinch.
Allen pushes Mason back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Mason has Allen pushed against the cage.
Mason prevents Allen from breaking the clinch.
Allen wants to break the clinch but can't.
Allen can't break the clinch.
Allen wants to get back to striking at distance but Mason won't allow it.

Allen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mason just stands there and leans against the cage.

Mason's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mason looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mason lands a nice short elbow.

Mason winds up and cracks Allen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Allen is looking to improve his position.
Mason prevents Allen from standing back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mason perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Mason stands up and beckons Allen to join him on the feet.
Allen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mason.

Mason shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mason was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mason tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
BOOM! Mason connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mason controlling his opponent.
Let's hope that Mason has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Allen tries to lock up and control but Mason gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mason controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mason cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Mason showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Allen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Allen throws a series of punches but Mason avoids them all with ease.

Mason instigates a clinch.
Mason blocks an uppercut.
Allen looking for a takedown.
Mason is pushing Allen up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Allen is looking to break free of the clinch but Mason has double underhooks.
Mason is stalling here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen is trying to break the clinch but Mason has him pressed against the cage.
Mason will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Allen up against the cage.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Mark Mason.
Allen looks to land a combination but Mason avoids it well.
Mason checks a low kick from Allen.
Allen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Allen is trying to stand up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mason gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Mason content to control rather than advance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mark Mason comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mason has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
