Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bluto Braun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Huddlestone!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huddlestone looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Braun is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Braun is nestled in close to Huddlestone, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Huddlestone tries to kick Braun off but Braun keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Braun wants to take a breather but Huddlestone is having none of it.
Huddlestone wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Braun takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Huddlestone wants to get back to his feet.
Braun perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Braun wants to control but Huddlestone is keeping him busy.
Braun throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Braun looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Huddlestone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Huddlestone is rocked!
Braun landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Huddlestone is still in real trouble! Can Braun finish him?
Braun is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Huddlestone is hurt! He's hurt bad - Braun fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Huddlestone from any more punishment! Congratulations to Braun! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bluto Braun!
Bluto Braun made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I'm happy to be training with legends like Dustin Douglas, but these young guys Soyster has will be something to behold, myself included.'.
Tom Huddlestone spoke after the fight, saying 'gonna take some time of to decide if im gonna continue to keep fighting or not!'.
