Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harvey Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Rydelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rydelli has chosen ZOË - Loin d’ici as his entrance music. Harvey Compton is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Rydelli!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Compton looking to score a takedown here. Rydelli is defending well but Compton drives through and ends up in Rydelli's guard.
Rydelli is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Compton dives into side control.

Rydelli tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Compton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rydelli is trying to control Compton's posture but Compton avoids it.

Compton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rydelli knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rydelli shoots in looking for a takedown. Compton tries to sprawl out of it but Rydelli keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Compton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Compton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Compton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rydelli.

Rydelli tries to score a power double leg takedown but Compton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rydelli somewhat.

Rydelli doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Compton counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Compton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rydelli to the mat! Rydelli manages to get full guard.
Rydelli pulls Compton in close to prevent any damage.

Compton darts in and clinches Rydelli up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Compton - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Compton is trying to drag Rydelli to the mat but Rydelli just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Compton has Rydelli pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Compton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rydelli tumbling to the mat - Compton dives into Rydelli's guard.
Rydelli is wriggling around but Compton manages to pass to half guard.

Harvey Compton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Compton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Compton is taking a breather. Rydelli says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Compton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rydelli for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Compton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rydelli was covering up waiting for the punch and Compton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rydelli has his foot on Compton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Compton works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Compton wants to stand but Rydelli has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Compton cracks Rydelli with a solid left hand.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Daniel Rydelli comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Compton has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
