Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between German Giles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Keller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Keller has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, German Giles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Keller!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keller works Giles's body with a nice hook.
Keller misses with a leg kick

and Giles counters with a takedown into side control.
Keller struggling a bit here.
Keller tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Keller can't escape the position.
Giles controlling the pace for now.

Giles is working for a guillotine from mount but Keller frees his head quite easily.
Keller is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Giles in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Keller slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Keller is trying to control but can't.

Giles is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Keller sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Giles prevents Keller from improving his position.
Keller is trying to control but can't.

Keller tries to get to full guard but Giles has control of the leg.
Keller slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Giles decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Keller, up you get!
Keller misses with a hook. Giles ducked under it nicely.
Giles misses with an attempted mid kick.
Danga de danga de dang - Keller scores with a four punch combination!
Giles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Keller is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

A jab from Keller does it's job there.
Giles takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Keller!
Giles scores with a head kick. Keller tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Keller moves into range and clinches up with Giles.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Giles as Keller tries to tie him up.
Keller is trying to maintain a safe position but Giles gets an underhook and turns Keller into the cage.
Keller is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Giles has denied him.

Keller is trying to trip Giles. He has hold of a leg but Giles is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Keller persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Giles manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Giles shoots in looking for a takedown. Keller tries to sprawl out of it but Giles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Keller unleashes a big counter combination but Giles bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Keller lands with a straight right. Giles didn't see that one coming.
Giles shoots for a takedown but Keller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Keller works Giles's body with a nice hook.
Giles misses with a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Shane Keller will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A shot to the liver by Keller. Beautiful body shot.
Shane Keller seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Keller throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Giles counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Keller is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Giles decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
No joy there for Keller, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Giles half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Keller has managed to clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Giles decides to pull guard.
Keller trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Keller throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Keller looking to sit in guard and control but Giles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Giles has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Keller is proving hard to escape from.
Giles trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Keller is trying to control the position but Giles postures up.
Keller manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Giles manages to get himself to full guard.

Giles trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Giles keeping moving, preventing Keller from controlling successfully.
Keller looking to sit in guard and control but Giles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Giles slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Giles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Keller is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Giles wants to stand but Keller has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Giles postures up.
Keller wants to sweep here but Giles controlling him for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Keller shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Giles napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Giles throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Keller shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Giles manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Keller has gone for a leg lock! Giles slips out almost immediately though and dives into Keller's guard.

Giles gets to his feet - Keller follows without any prompting.
Giles with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Keller to score with a decent uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

German Giles dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Giles moves into range and clinches up with Keller.
Giles throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Keller blocks it with crossed arms.
Keller is looking to break free of the clinch but Giles has double underhooks.

Giles has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Keller uses from the top position.
Keller wants to control from the top but Giles keeps moving.
Keller loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Keller postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Giles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Keller, into his guard.

Giles wants to get up but he can't break Keller's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Keller is trying to keep Giles in close.

Keller had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Giles defends it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Keller is trying to control the position but Giles postures up.
Giles sitting in guard here, content to control.
Giles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Keller for as long as he can get away with.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Keller has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Giles jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Keller walks away with a smile on his face. Giles gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Giles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Keller tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Giles stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Giles takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Giles takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Giles fails with the takedown
and Keller counters with a one-two to the body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Giles shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

And that's the end of the fight!
German Giles showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Giles has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
