The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kendrick drives through and clinches with Smith against the cage.

Kendrick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jack Kendrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kendrick tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.
Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Kendrick pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kendrick has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kendrick gets to his feet and stands over Smith, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Smith felt that one! Kendrick unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Smith from any more punishment!
