Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hamish Mctavish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Pickford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Hamish Mctavish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Troy Pickford!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mctavish closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pickford quickly recovers to half guard.
Mctavish seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mctavish tries to pass to full mount but Pickford defends it.
Pickford wants to improve his position but Mctavish is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mctavish is working for a kimura but Pickford is defending it quite comfortably.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mctavish shoots for a double leg takedown but Pickford sprawls well. He's pushed Mctavish's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mctavish is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pickford knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Mctavish tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mctavish has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mctavish controls Pickford momentarily but Pickford frees himself.

Pickford wants to control from the top but Mctavish keeps moving.

Mctavish is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pickford is aware though and is defending well.
Pickford throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mctavish works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mctavish working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pickford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pickford manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mctavish dives in for a single leg takedown but Pickford sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Pickford stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Mctavish tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pickford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mctavish somewhat.
