Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Colby Blanchard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, William Monk!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monk rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Blanchard counter with a right hand.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Monk.
Blanchard taking punishment in the form of punches.
Blanchard struggling a bit here.

Monk thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Blanchard trying his best to control but Monk has mounted him.

Monk stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Monk shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blanchard is looking to control Monk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blanchard avoid being mounted?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Monk slips a nice elbow through Blanchard's hands, connecting with Blanchard's forehead.


Blanchard is rocked!

Monk looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Oh Blanchard is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Monk is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blanchard throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Monk manages to pass to side control.

Monk tries for a kimura but Blanchard is defending well.

Monk decides to stand back up.

Monk gets a big slam - oh, Blanchard is out! Blanchard is out! That's a nasty KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). William Monk!
