Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Gatsby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickthaniel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Feiticeira. Nickthaniel Diaz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nickthaniel Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gatsby fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Diaz sprawls well initially but Gatsby persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Diaz has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Gatsby is on him like a limpet, forcing Diaz back against the cage.
Diaz is trying to pull guard but Gatsby has him pressed against the cage.

Gatsby has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Gatsby tries to throw a body punch but Diaz avoids it by throwing Gatsby back against the cage.

Diaz wants to take the fight to the mat but Gatsby manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Diaz blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Gatsby gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Gatsby is looking for a kimura but Diaz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gatsby to get the leverage.

Diaz is looking to control Gatsby's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diaz avoid being mounted?
Diaz wants to get back to full guard.

Diaz has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Westside Martial Arts. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gatsby connects with a nice short shot to Diaz's temple.

Gatsby looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gatsby lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Gatsby lands a big elbow - Diaz is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Gatsby!
