PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Selfrid Bergman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Brandon's choice of entrance music: Life Is Beautiful. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Selfrid Bergman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Brandon!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandon shoots for a double leg takedown but Bergman sprawls well. He's pushed Brandon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brandon swings for the body but Bergman moves out of range.
Bergman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Brandon sprawls and moves away.
Brandon shoots in looking for a takedown but Bergman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brandon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bergman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bergman wants it to stay on the feet.
Selfrid Bergman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Brandon.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brandon stays in close to Bergman's body and controls the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brandon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bergman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bergman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brandon controls the pace.

Bergman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
