Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daryl Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Iron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daryl Smith!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a jab to Iron's midsection.
Good exchange - Smith coming out on top.
Smith looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Iron with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Smith to score with a decent uppercut.
Iron misses with a head kick.
Smith throws the left hand but Iron avoids the punch easily.
Iron tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Smith manages to circle out of the way.
Smith lands a lovely overhand right.

Smith gets tackled into the cage by Iron. Iron maintains the clinch.

Iron wants the takedown. Smith is fighting it off but Iron persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Smith's guard against the cage.
Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Iron trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Iron lands a couple of digs.

Iron throws an elbow that misses. Smith uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Iron's guard. Nice move by Smith!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Smith stands up and waves to Iron to follow him.
Smith's jab looks to have found its range, popping Iron under the eye.
Iron gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The crowd cheers as Smith lands an impressive looking overhand right. Iron doesn't seem phased though.
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Iron keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Iron went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Iron shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Iron has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smith finds it's way round the side to connect with Iron's head.
Nice sprawl there from Smith as Iron shoots in.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Iron is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smith sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Iron. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Iron lands a jab to Smith's midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iron has been working on his balance at School of Hard Knocks (Elite Training for $225), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Smith.

Smith scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Smith stuns Iron with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Iron fails in his attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith throws a series of punches but Iron avoids them all with ease.
As Smith looks to move away, Iron throws a big counter combo but Smith just gets out of the way.
Iron tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.

Iron lands with a straight right. Smith didn't see that one coming.
Iron misses with a takedown attempt
and Smith counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Iron thinking.
Iron shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Smith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Iron is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
Iron takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Donk. Smith catches Iron right on the button with a cross.
Iron shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
A punch lands to the side of Iron 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Iron changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Iron manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Iron. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A punch lands to the side of Iron 's head but he takes it in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Iron. Iron circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Smith connects with the punch.

Smith lands a big right hand that sends Iron crashing to the mat! Smith stays standing though and waves Iron back to his feet!


Iron is rocked!
Ted Iron is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smith drops Iron with a huge uppercut! Iron drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Smith is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daryl Smith!
Daryl Smith bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
