The crowd seem to be enjoying Mendez's choice of entrance music: Angelito. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Angelo Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Osterman.
Mendez slips under a jab from Osterman.
Osterman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendez moves away.
Mendez misses with a combination
and Osterman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Osterman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mendez goes for a double leg but Osterman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Osterman continues to drive forward.

We've been told by Osterman's head coaches at LOD - Slaughterhouse that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mendez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Osterman.
Mendez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Osterman.

Mendez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Osterman did well to prevent Mendez getting side control.

Mendez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Osterman tries to bum rush Mendez with a series of wild strikes but Mendez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Osterman lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
