Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carl Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Lewis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Moon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis doesn't manage to clinch there - Moon circles away.
Thomas Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moon stuffs the takedown.
Lewis falls off balance throwing a combination

and Moon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Moon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Moon tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lewis avoids it.
Moon can't find room to land a body shot as Lewis controls the action.

Moon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lewis tries to clinch there but Moon circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lewis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Moon swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Lewis throws a lazy head kick

and Moon counters by moving into the clinch.
Lewis crunches a lovely knee into Moon's ribcage.

Lewis drags the fight down to the ground.
Lewis is trying to keep Moon in close.

Moon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Moon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Moon wants to stand but Lewis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Moon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Lewis goes for a double leg but Moon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Moon continues to drive forward.
Moon thinks about countering with a body kick.
Moon slips a jab and a cross from Lewis.

Lewis rushes Moon and presses him up against the cage.
Lewis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Moon's efforts to push away.

Moon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lewis uses from the top position.
Lewis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Moon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Moon is trying to stand up here but Lewis is controlling him well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lewis lands a nice short elbow.
Moon is doing well to control the position and prevent Lewis from advancing to side control.

Moon tries to kick Lewis off but Lewis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lewis wants to get back to his feet.
Moon is staying active underneath Lewis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Thomas Lewis will probably get the nod.

Lewis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Moon did well to prevent Lewis getting side control.
Moon is looking to improve his position.
Moon is looking to control Lewis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Moon avoid being mounted?
Lewis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Moon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lewis is taking a breather. Moon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Lewis is trying to work for a kimura but Moon is defending well.
Moon is looking for a sweep. Lewis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Moon kicks Lewis off and gets back to his feet.
Lewis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Moon tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Moon tries to score a body lock takedown but Lewis shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Lewis tightens his grip and picks Moon up, before dumping him to the ground. Moon manages to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lewis stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Moon takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Moon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Moon holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lewis is nestled in close to Moon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Moon is not content to let Lewis control the position.

Lewis slips a nice elbow through Moon's hands, connecting with Moon's forehead.

Moon kicks Lewis off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Moon jumps guard but Lewis stands there with Moon around his waist. Moon gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lewis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moon walks away with a smile on his face. Lewis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Carl Moon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Thomas Lewis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

and Lewis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Carl Moon showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lewis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
