Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zack Huber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuo Shinamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zack Huber has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zack Huber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuo Shinamoto!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinamoto throws a lazy body kick
and Huber counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Shinamoto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Huber throws a sloppy head kick and Shinamoto moves out of range easily.
Huber could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shinamoto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shinamoto wants it to stay on the feet.
Huber blocks a head kick by Shinamoto.
Huber tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shinamoto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shinamoto changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Huber bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Huber appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shinamoto shoots in looking for a takedown but Huber manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shinamoto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Huber wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Shinamoto is looking to chop away at Huber's legs.
Shinamoto throws a combination that misses

and Huber counters by moving into the clinch.
Shinamoto trying to stall but Huber improves his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Huber has Shinamoto pushed against the cage.
Shinamoto tries to stall but Huber uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Huber can't get the takedown.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Huber tries to pull guard but Shinamoto holds him up against the cage and eventually Huber drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zack Huber. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Huber jumps guard but Shinamoto turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Huber is trying to pull guard but Shinamoto has him pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Shinamoto's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Huber.

Huber decides to pull guard.
Shinamoto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Shinamoto cracks Huber with a solid left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shinamoto is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Shinamoto forces his way into half guard.

Shinamoto is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Huber has managed to free his arm - good work.
Shinamoto prevents Huber from improving his position.
Shinamoto is taking a breather. Huber says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Huber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shinamoto on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shinamoto scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Shinamoto working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Shinamoto is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shinamoto passes the guard and advances to mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shinamoto fails to advance to Huber's back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tatsuo Shinamoto dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Shinamoto throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Huber counters by moving into the clinch.
Shinamoto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Huber is stalling here.
Shinamoto is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Shinamoto is trying to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Huber manages to pull guard.
Shinamoto wants to control from the top but Huber keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shinamoto is pushing down on Huber's leg trying to pass to half guard. Huber is fighting to maintain full guard but Shinamoto has managed to sneak the leg through.
Huber blocking the ground and pound attempt from Shinamoto.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shinamoto seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Shinamoto throwing shots but Huber is blocking nicely.

Shinamoto wants to work for an arm triangle but Huber is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Huber wants to get back to his feet.

Shinamoto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Huber is just riding it out for now. Shinamoto eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shinamoto has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Huber defend it? Shinamoto steps over the head and cranks it - Huber is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shinamoto!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tatsuo Shinamoto!
Tatsuo Shinamoto decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
