The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parantainen takes a swing at Griever's ribcage but misses.
Griever fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Parantainen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Parantainen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Parantainen.
Griever swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Parantainen drops his hands momentarily and Griever takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Jaakko Parantainen has been cut.
Parantainen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Griever.
Griever just misses with a punch to the body.
Parantainen avoids a kick to the body.
Parantainen thows a left - swing and a miss!
Griever throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parantainen tries for a takedown but Griever circles away easily
and Griever counters with a stiff right hand.
Parantainen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Griever tried to counter with a leg kick but Parantainen avoided it.
Zell Griever has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaakko Parantainen.
Parantainen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Griever momentarily.

Parantainen keeps Griever at a distance using the push kick.
Jaakko Parantainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griever and Parantainen are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Griever throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Parantainen into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Griever knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
