Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose El Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El Angel comes to the cage accompanied by Descending Angel. Steve Rogers is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jose El Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 48 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rogers scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
El Angel scores with a one two! Rogers had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

El Angel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rogers advances to half guard.
Rogers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rogers wants to pass the guard but El Angel is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rogers not doing much here.

Rogers is working for a submission of some sort.
Rogers controlling the action here.
Rogers works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rogers lands a big shot there that rocks El Angel but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Rogers content just to control the position here.
El Angel is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

El Angel has left one of his arms exposed and Rogers doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. El Angel screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Steve Rogers!
A relieved looking Steve Rogers thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Jose El Angel spoke after the fight, saying 'I just dont know what happened. The water i had was bad...i just dont know...'.
