And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joel Castro!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Castro shoots in and bounces English off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
English utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
English has a closed guard, preventing Castro from standing up.
English is trying to control the position but Castro postures up.
Castro trying to control but English is working from the bottom.
English wants to get back to his feet but Castro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Castro gets to his feet - English follows without any prompting.

English fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Castro to the ground. English is now in Castro's guard.

Castro has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes English off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
English works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Castro closes the distance and pushes English back into the cage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Castro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

and Castro counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
English shoots in for a takedown but Castro shows good takedown defense.

A momentary lapse in concentration from English enables Castro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. English manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Castro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
