Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lee Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Octavio Paixao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paixao has chosen "Death by Blonde" by Devotchka as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Rogers misses with a double jab.
Rogers steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Paixao.
Rogers moves out of range of the strikes.
Rogers tries a head kick but it misses.
Paixao showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rogers.
Rogers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Paixao.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paixao throws a series of punches but Rogers avoids them all with ease.
Paixao swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Paixao throws and low kick but Rogers moves out of range easily.

Rogers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rogers drops back, looking for a kneebar! Paixao looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Paixao looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Paixao!

Rogers throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Paixao counters with an inside leg kick.
Rogers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Paixao chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rogers can pounce on him.

Paixao throws a right and a left that both miss.

It looks like Lee Rogers has been cut.

Rogers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rogers fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Rogers lands some shots froms side control.
Paixao controls the position for a moment.
Rogers advances to mount.
Rogers is breathing heavily.
Rogers unloads with some shots from mount but Paixao bucks and avoids them well.
Rogers could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rogers moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Paixao has worked his arm free - good work by Paixao!

Paixao pushes Rogers away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rogers gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A close round but Octavio Paixao will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Paixao counters with a series of strikes. Rogers will be more careful next time no doubt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rogers.
Paixao finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rogers scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Rogers throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
No joy there for Paixao, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Paixao tries to land a front kick but Rogers steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Paixao fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rogers.

and Paixao counters with a left right combination that sends Rogers crashing to the mat - Paixao wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Rogers out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
