Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renji Abarai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abarai's entrance music is Before I Forget. A fine choice. John Johnson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Renji Abarai's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abarai looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Abarai persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
Abarai seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

and Abarai decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.

Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Abarai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Abarai's legs - danger averted.

As Johnson tries to get set, Abarai tries to push him back and clinch up but Johnson manages to avoid the attempt.
Abarai darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Abarai into the ropes.
Johnson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A left lands for Johnson.
Johnson throws a lazy right hand but Abarai sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Abarai seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Abarai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Abarai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

John Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Abarai tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Johnson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Abarai is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Johnson stalks Abarai and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Abarai's face. Abarai staggers backwards, shaken.

Johnson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Abarai.
Abarai moves out of range of the strikes.
Abarai seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
