PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matty Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gunn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to flux - bloc party. Mac Jonson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jonson is nestled in close to Gunn, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gunn wants to control but Jonson is keeping busy.
Gunn flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Gunn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gunn.

Jonson drops back looking for a leg! Gunn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gunn manages to kick Jonson off! Jonson jumps back into Gunn's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jonson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gunn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gunn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gunn!
Gunn works to advance to full mount. Jonson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Gunn lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gunn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jonson is looking to escape.
Gunn lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Gunn is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jonson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mac Jonson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
