The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been informed that Steel has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Gunnarsson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Steel 's guard.

We've been hearing that Gunnarsson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gunnarsson decides to stand back up.
Gunnarsson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Steel takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gunnarsson throws a right and a left that Steel avoids nicely.
Gunnarsson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gunnarsson throws a series of punches but Steel avoids them all with ease.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Steel scores with a decent looking hook.
Steel throws a sloppy head kick
and Gunnarsson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Gunnarsson .

Gunnarsson throws a right and a left that Steel avoids nicely.
Gunnarsson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Steel . Steel circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gunnarsson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steel tries a head kick but it misses.
Gunnarsson misses with a few strikes there.
Forged Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gunnarsson throws a body punch but Steel moves out of range.

and Steel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Gunnarsson scores with a one two! Steel had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

No joy there for Gunnarsson , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Steel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gunnarsson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Gunnarsson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Steel was covering up waiting for the punch and Gunnarsson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gunnarsson cracks Steel with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Gunnarsson immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Steel is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Gunnarsson !
