Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Rothwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Rothwell will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Glenn Randall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Rothwell!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rothwell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Rothwell manages to pull guard.

Rothwell kicks Randall off and gets to his feet.
Randall throws a head kick but Rothwell moves out of range.

Rothwell closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Randall's guard.

Randall controls Rothwell momentarily but Rothwell frees himself.
Rothwell stays in close to Randall's body and controls the position.
Randall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rothwell on the ground.

Rothwell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rothwell advances to half guard.

Rothwell decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Rothwell shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rothwell has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Randall tries to lock up and control but Rothwell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Rothwell has hold of Randall's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Randall manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Rothwell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Rothwell throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Randall is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rothwell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rothwell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Rothwell decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Rothwell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Randall was covering up waiting for the punch and Rothwell finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Randall is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rothwell dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rothwell turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rothwell manages to end up in side control.
Randall is looking to get back to his feet here but Rothwell is keeping cool and he's managed to take Randall's back.
Rothwell slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Randall is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Randall is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Rothwell.

Rothwell has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Randall has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Randall avoids the strikes from Rothwell.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Rothwell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Rothwell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Randall.

Randall is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Rothwell presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Randall has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rothwell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
