Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson Wills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Steve Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wilson Wills!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wills connects with the punch.
Cox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cox throws a jab when Wills was well out of range.
Cox throws a head kick that misses.
Cox shoots in looking for a takedown but Wills manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cox's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Cox closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wills did well to prevent Cox getting side control.

Wills felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Cox throws a strike but Wills rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wills swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Cox shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wills as he avoids it easily.
Cox is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wills can do to turn this around?
Cox doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Cox walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Cox closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wills quickly recovers to half guard.

Cox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wills with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cox is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wills defends it well.
Wills is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cox seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Cox has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wills has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cox has managed to get both his arms back between Wills's legs - danger averted.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cox bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

You can see the frustration on Wills's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wills tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wills escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wilson Wills has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wills has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cox should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Wills has tightened it up now! Cox should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

After the fight, Wilson Wills was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
