Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staynings closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gary is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Staynings is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Gary squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Staynings thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Staynings sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Staynings jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gary is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gary and Staynings has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gary wants to get back to his feet.
Gary sneaks back into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gary wants to control but Staynings is keeping busy.
Staynings is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Gary is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
