Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Halo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andy Wilkins!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilkins feints and as Halo raises his hands in defense, Wilkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Halo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Halo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wilkins is controlling him.
Wilkins is looking to work some ground and pound but Halo has wrist control.
Wilkins postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Wilkins wants to control from the top but Halo keeps moving.
Wilkins throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilkins with a flurry of punches that miss.
Wilkins throws an elbow that misses. Halo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wilkins's guard. Nice move by Halo!

Halo looking to pass the guard.

Halo trying to control the position from guard on top but Wilkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wilkins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Halo is aware though and is defending well.

Halo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Halo misses with a low kick.

Wilkins closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Halo to the mat! Halo manages to get full guard.
Wilkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Wilkins throws a big elbow that misses.
Halo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wilkins controls the pace.
Wilkins prevents Halo from getting back to his feet.

Halo trying to control the position.
Wilkins is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Halo is controlling Wilkins's posture.
Wilkins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Halo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wilkins is one step ahead there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Wilkins checks the leg kick nicely there.
Wilkins throws a poor cross that misses
and Halo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wilkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Halo moves away.
Halo throws a shot from downtown. Wilkins moves away and avoids it.
Michael Halo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Halo clobbers Wilkins with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Halo misses with a hook.

Wilkins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wilkins winds up and cracks Halo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wilkins scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Halo tries to roll over but Wilkins keeps him under control.
Wilkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Halo keeps working.

Halo wants to control but Wilkins is keeping busy.
Halo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Wilkins not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wilkins landing with the ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Halo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wilkins looking to sit in guard and control but Halo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Andy Wilkins will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Halo throws a hook to the side of Wilkins's head but Wilkins sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wilkins lands with a nice body punch.
Nice sprawl there from Halo as Wilkins shoots in.
Halo lands with a cross.
That kick from Halo tenderised Wilkins's leg. Wilkins is trying to keep his angry face on.
Halo misses with a low kick.
Wilkins tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Halo missing with a left hand there. Wilkins was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Halo lunges at Wilkins with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wilkins's hand.
Wilkins on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Wilkins loads up on a big right hand but Halo slips the punch.
Wilkins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Halo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilkins somewhat.
Halo appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Halo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Halo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wilkins.
Halo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wilkins. That did some damage!

Wilkins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Halo tries to buck Wilkins off but Wilkins is having none of it.
Wilkins trying to control the position but Halo is working away.
Halo sneaks back into half guard.
Halo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Halo is not content to let Wilkins control the position.

Halo tries to kick Wilkins off in order to stand up. Wilkins Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Wilkins working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Wilkins fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Halo is looking for a sweep.
Wilkins throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Wilkins tries to advance to mount but Halo denies him.

Wilkins tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Halo tries to bench press Wilkins off him but Wilkins keeps the position.
Halo is not content to let Wilkins control the position.
Halo wants to control but Wilkins postures up.
Halo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wilkins gets to mount! Halo was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Halo wants to hold on but Wilkins pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Wilkins is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Halo is surviving well by controlling Wilkins's body position as best he can.

Halo is trying to stand up.
Halo tries to reverse the position but Wilkins maintains control.
Halo is squirming around, avoiding Wilkins's attempts to control the action.
Halo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Wilkins fails to move to back control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Andy Wilkins will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Halo throws a leg kick but Wilkins sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Halo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Halo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Wilkins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Halo keeping moving, preventing Wilkins from controlling successfully.
Andy Wilkins has got the better of the ground game so far.
Halo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wilkins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Wilkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Halo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Halo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wilkins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Halo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Halo leaves Wilkins with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Michael Halo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Wilkins.
Halo throws a body shot but no joy.
Wilkins lands with a straight right. Halo didn't see that one coming.
Wilkins drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Wilkins tries to move into range but Halo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Halo looks to land a body kick but Wilkins moved away.
Halo looks to land a left hand but Wilkins moved out of range nicely.

Wilkins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Wilkins wants to control but Halo is keeping him busy.
Wilkins in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wilkins in side control, throwing shots but Halo defends.

Wilkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wilkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Michael Halo showed his dominance in that final round.
