PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raekwon The Chef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazunori Ishii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Chef's entrance music is Raekwon - Ice Cream. A fine choice. Ishii has chosen Imagine Dragons - Radioactive as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and The Chef counters with a body kick that stops Ishii in his tracks momentarily.

As Ishii backs away, The Chef returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Kazunori Ishii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters circling a little - The Chef finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Ishii feints a jab promting The Chef to slip. Ishii then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. The Chef slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Ishii is trying to push The Chef away but The Chef has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ishii breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ishii throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

and The Chef counters with a body kick that stops Ishii in his tracks momentarily.
The Chef cracks Ishii with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Ishii throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ishii throws a jab but it's blocked by The Chef.
The Chef works Ishii's body with a nice hook.
Ishii will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ishii chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before The Chef can pounce on him.

The Chef closes the distance and clinches.
The Chef scores with a nice hook to the head.
Ishii fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A quick uppercut on the inside from The Chef.
The Chef digs a right hand underneath Ishii's ribcage. Ishii let out a lung full of air as it connected.

The Chef is trying to trip Ishii. He has hold of a leg but Ishii is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. The Chef persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The Chef throws a big right hand that misses.
The Chef's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ishii wants to stand and escape but The Chef is having none of it.

Ishii utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The Chef is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ishii can do to turn this around?

and Ishii is countered with a crisp right hand from The Chef that sends him to the canvas! The Chef follows him to the mat into side control.

The Chef cracks Ishii with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! The Chef immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Ishii is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by The Chef!

In his post fight interview, Raekwon The Chef started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
