The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Webb connects with a body shot.
We've been told by Ruth's head coaches at The Shark Tank that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ruth cracks Webb with a right hand to the side of the head.
Webb throws a looping overhand right but Ruth ducks down to avoid it.
Webb ducks under a wild hook from Ruth.
The fighters circling - Webb throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ruth tries to counter with a takedown but Webb is quick to defend against it.
Ruth throws a right and a left that both miss.
A little jabbing left from Webb on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Webb throws an overhand right that lands on Ruth's shoulder, as Ruth tries to avoid the shot.
A little feinted left hand from Ruth on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Webb fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ruth manages to avoid it.
Ruth fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Webb dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ruth throws out a loose jab but Webb uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice side step and Webb releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Christopher Webb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Webb misses with a straight left.
Ruth sizes up Webb with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Webb enables Ruth to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Webb manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Webb's head.
Webb wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ruth is now in half guard.
Ruth is nestled in close to Webb, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Webb is looking for a sweep. Ruth is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Webb is trying to maintain the position but Ruth is very close to passing his half guard.
Ruth lands with a punch from half guard.

Webb wants to hit a switch here but Ruth passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Webb there!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ruth looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Webb covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
