Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Pedan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dave Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pedan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Johnson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Johnson.
Johnson misses with a two punch combination.
Johnson moves out of range of the strikes.
Johnson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Johnson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pedan is able to avoid easily.
Pedan throws out a powerful jab.
Pedan misses with a low kick.

Pedan moves into the clinch successfully.
Johnson stalling in the clinch.
Pedan throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Pedan blocks an uppercut.

Pedan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pedan throws an off balance right hand
and Johnson counters with an inside leg kick.
Pedan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pedan misses with a straight right.
Johnson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pedan manages to avoid it.
Pedan scores with a body shot.
Pedan missing with a left hand there. Johnson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Johnson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Pedan lands a body shot.
Pedan lands an uppercut.
Pedan lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Pedan lands an uppercut.
Johnson lands with a light punch inside.
Johnson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Pedan is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Pedan breaks the clinch.

Johnson clinches.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pedan to keep the fight standing.
Johnson wants a takedown.

Pedan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Johnson scoring well with a low kick there.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pedan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johnson gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Johnson forces Pedan back against the cage and clinches.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Pedan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Alexander Pedan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Johnson.
Johnson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pedan.
Pedan with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Johnson manages to pull guard.
Pedan is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pedan throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pedan is adopting a defensive guard.

Johnson won't allow Pedan to get back to his feet.
Pedan trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.

Johnson prevents Pedan from getting back to his feet.
Pedan throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Pedan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him.
Pedan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pedan wants to improve his position but instead Johnson has moved into half guard.
Pedan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pedan pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.
Pedan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.
Pedan is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.
Pedan wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
Johnson trying to control but Pedan is working from the bottom.
Pedan wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pedan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexander Pedan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Pedan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Pedan scores with a jab to the jaw.
Pedan avoids the head kick by Johnson.
Johnson checks a leg kick.
Johnson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Alexander Pedan is winning the standup battle so far.
Pedan throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.
Pedan throws a shot from downtown. Johnson moves away and avoids it.
Pedan misses with a hook
and Johnson counters with a low kick, right behind Pedan 's knee.
Johnson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pedan throws out the jab.
Johnson staying out of range there.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Pedan is avoiding it.
Left hook, right uppercut from Johnson.
Pedan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Johnson counters with a big head kick but Pedan shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson is looking to slow Pedan down with leg kicks.
Pedan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Johnson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pedan counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Pedan to acknowledge the strikes.
Pedan circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Johnson drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Pedan follows Johnson to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Pedan!
