Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shon Rich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson Jackson looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shon Rich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyson Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rich closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.
Rich tries to clinch there but Jackson circles away.
And Jackson tries to counter it with a takedown but Rich pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Jackson feints and as Rich raises his hands in defense, Jackson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rich holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rich keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Rich really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rich pulls Jackson in close to his closed guard and prevents Jackson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rich will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rich is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Rich has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jackson clinches up against the cage.
Rich jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Rich gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jackson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rich on his heels. He'll look to pass Rich's guard now, I'm sure.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rich lands a good elbow from the bottom.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jackson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Rich has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rich lands a good elbow from the bottom.

Rich looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rich wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rich trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rich is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Rich is looking for a sweep.
Rich is not content to let Jackson control the position.
Rich is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jackson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Rich is looking to control Jackson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rich avoid being mounted?
Jackson prevents Rich from improving his position.
Rich is trying to maintain the position but Jackson is very close to passing his half guard.
Rich is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jackson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rich fails with a takedown attempt.
Rich blocks a head kick by Jackson.

Rich is pulling down on Jackson's head. It's preventing any offense from Jackson, at least for the moment.
Jackson won't allow Rich to sweep him here.

Jackson wants to control from the top but Rich keeps moving.
Rich doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Rich is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jackson passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Rich is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Rich is looking to stand up but Jackson isn't so interested in that idea.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rich fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rich dives in and grabs Jackson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes down on Rich's head and hops out.

Rich shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jackson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jackson throws a half hearted mid kick.

Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rich not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Rich thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Rich wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment.
Rich can't keep his opponent in guard - Jackson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Tyson Jackson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rich enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rich manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
