Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stuart Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stuart Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels tries to clinch but Ball is having none of it.
Ball attempts a counter takedown but Daniels avoids it well and moves away.

Daniels shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Daniels prevents Ball from improving his position.
Daniels is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Ball moves into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ball working a defensive guard here.

Daniels drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ball manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Daniels has Ball in his guard.

Daniels is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ball defends well.

Ball is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ball stands and steps away. Daniels gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Daniels closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ball to the mat! Ball manages to get full guard.
Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Ball is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Daniels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ball. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ball tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ball is pulling down on Daniels's head to control his posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ball working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Daniels.
Daniels is looking to stand up but Ball won't let him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Daniels throws a sloppy head kick

and Ball moves into the clinch.
Ball fails to pull guard.
Daniels is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ball gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Daniels manages to pull guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ball trying to stand up but can't free himself from Daniels's guard.

Ball decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Daniels, up you get!
Daniels looks to clinch

so Ball counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ball is standing up over Daniels. Daniels looks to escape but Ball dives into side control.

Daniels taking a bit of punishment here - Ball scoring with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniels is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ball has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Daniels looks winded!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Daniels struggling a bit here.
Ball could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Daniels being controlled for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stuart Ball will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Daniels feints and as Ball raises his hands in defense, Daniels changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Daniels won't allow Ball to sweep him here.
Daniels must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ball preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daniels passes into half guard.
Daniels tries to stand and escape but Ball actually recovers to full guard.

Ball has his hands on Daniels's head, controlling the position.
Daniels looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ball is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Daniels looking to sit in guard and control but Ball gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Ball stands up from Daniels's guard - Ball perhaps looking for a knockout.
Daniels throws a right and a left that Ball avoids nicely.
Daniels displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ball.
Daniels closes the distance and clinches up with Ball, looking for a takedown. Daniels pushes Ball against the cage but Ball circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Daniels tries to land a body kick

and Ball counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Daniels tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Daniels is breathing heavily.

Ball gets to his feet. Daniels looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Ball takes the fight into the clinch.
Daniels managing to block the knees to the body from Ball.

Ball's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Daniels tries for a takedown but Ball sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ball changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Stuart Ball is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ball throws a front kick aimed at Daniels's knee but Daniels avoids it well.
Daniels doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ball counters with a one-two to the body.
Stuart Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Daniels.

Daniels tries to clinch there but Ball circles away.
Daniels wants to clinch up but Ball keeps it at a distance.
Ball feinted with a counter takedown.
Daniels misses with a combination

and Ball counters with a shoot takedown. Daniels fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ball seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Ball gets to his feet - Daniels follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stuart Ball dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Ball stuffs the takedown.
Ball changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Ball tries to keep at a distance but Daniels has taken the fight into the clinch.
Daniels blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Daniels jumps guard but Ball turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Daniels has Ball pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ball manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Stuart Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Daniels.

Ball's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ball shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Daniels but Daniels pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ball keeps the fight on the outside.
Ball feinted there with a counter leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ball.
Daniels is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Ball misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Daniels is defended easily by Ball.
Daniels takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Daniels shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ball's guard.
Ball looking for a sweep. Not yet Ball, not yet.

Daniels decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Daniels misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but Ball shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ball stuffs the takedown.

Ball closes the distance and clinches.

Ball breaks from the clinch.
Daniels ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ball moves away.
Ball tries a head kick but it misses.
Daniels shoots in and drives through. Ball sprawls well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Daniels throws a right and a left that Ball avoids nicely.
Daniels avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ball avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ball scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Daniels throws a head kick that misses.

Daniels forces Ball back against the cage and clinches.

Ball pulls guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Ball is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ball manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daniels manages to get himself to full guard.

Ball stands up from Daniels's guard - Ball perhaps looking for a knockout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Daniels.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ball closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Stuart Ball showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Ball has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
