PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Pridham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hasan Fezzik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pridham's entrance music is tamale-tyler, the creator. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fezzik is defended easily by Pridham.

Pridham gets caught napping as Fezzik dives in and scores a takedown. Pridham manages to retain guard.
Pridham wants to stand up but Fezzik is controlling him.

Fezzik got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pridham has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fezzik has managed to get both his arms back between Pridham's legs - danger averted.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fezzik drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fezzik jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fezzik is pushing down on Pridham's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pridham is fighting to maintain full guard but Fezzik has managed to sneak the leg through.

Fezzik is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pridham is just riding it out for now. Fezzik eventually gives up the hold.
Fezzik has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Pridham tries to get to full guard but Fezzik has control of the leg.
Pridham pushes Fezzik off looking to stand but Fezzik dives back in and keeps control.

Fezzik is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pridham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fezzik on the ground.

Pridham is in trouble now - Fezzik has advanced to mount!

Fezzik jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pridham is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pridham and Fezzik has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pridham bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pridham is trying to control the action in half guard but Fezzik is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Fezzik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pridham.
Fezzik with the counter takedown but Pridham avoids it easily.

and Fezzik counters with a shoot takedown. Pridham fights it but they end up in guard.

Pridham manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Fezzik is trying to drag Pridham to the mat but Pridham just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Fezzik has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Pridham is trying to keep an underhook but Fezzik manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fezzik moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pridham has worked his arm free - good work by Pridham!

Fezzik has an Americana. Pridham didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fezzik is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fezzik hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
