Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Napal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miss Fortune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Napal had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Napal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miss Fortune!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Napal dives in for a single leg takedown but Fortune sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Fortune has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Napal.

Napal has Fortune up against the cage in a clinch.

Napal breaks the clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Fortune.
Fortune tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Napal swivels and escapes.
Napal moves in looking to clinch but Fortune pushes him off.

Napal clinches up with Fortune and pushes him back against the cage.

Fortune has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Napal uses from the top position.
Napal will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Napal decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Fortune takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Napal keeps Fortune at a distance using the push kick.

Fortune shoots in but Napal avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Napal shoots in looking for a takedown but Fortune manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Napal's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Napal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fortune moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Napal shoots in but no luck this time.

Napal fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Fortune darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Napal is doing well to control the position and prevent Fortune from advancing to side control.

Napal is looking for a sweep. Fortune is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Napal flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Fortune is trying to control the action in half guard but Napal is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Napal is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fortune's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fortune's back!
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Fortune has eaten all the pies!
Napal punches the canvas rather than the man.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Napal is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Fortune knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Fortune for a finish.

Fortune trying to control the action but Napal just sinks the hooks in.

Napal is riding his opponent, not letting Fortune buck him off.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fortune is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fortune tries to escape the position.
Fortune is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Fortune misses with a takedown
and Napal counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Fortune with a lazy takedown attempt
and Napal counters with a nice low kick that buckles Fortune's knee momentarily.
Napal buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Anthony Napal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fortune wants to clinch.
Napal shoots in for a double leg but Fortune sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fortune stuffs the takedown.

Napal has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fortune avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Come on Napal - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Napal looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Fortune has picked Napal up and slammed him! Napal can't keep hold of the triangle and Fortune manages to pass to side control!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fortune stands up and beckons Napal to his feet.
Napal's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Napal duly obliges.
Anthony Napal is winning the standup battle so far.
Nice takedown defense from Napal. No joy for Fortune on that attempt.

Fortune is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Napal to keep the fight standing.

Napal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Napal fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Napal looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Napal has closed the distance and engaged Fortune in a clinch.

Napal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fortune tries for a takedown but Napal sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Napal misses with a series of wild punches.
Fortune shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Napal defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Napal goes for a double leg but Fortune avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fortune continues to drive forward.
Fortune is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fortune swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Napal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fortune circles away.

Fortune tries to pull guard but Napal holds him up against the cage and eventually Fortune drops back down to his feet.
Napal's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Napal has a couple of punches blocked by Fortune.

Napal is pressed up against the cage. Fortune has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Napal down to the mat. Napal avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Fortune fails with an attempt to clinch.

Napal closes the distance and clinches.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Anthony Napal has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Napal changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Fortune fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Napal tries to clinch but Fortune is having none of it.

Fortune shoots in and drives through. Napal sprawls well.
It looked like Napal was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Napal is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fortune can do to turn this around?

Miss Fortune has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Anthony Napal.
Well Napal has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
