Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zach Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flap Jacks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zach Palmer has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zach Palmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flap Jacks!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Palmer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jacks to the mat! Jacks manages to get full guard.
Palmer tries to free his leg and advance position but Jacks is retaining full guard.
Palmer is looking to work some ground and pound but Jacks has wrist control.
Jacks wants to stand and escape but Palmer is having none of it.
Palmer with a flurry of punches that miss.
Palmer wants to stand but Jacks has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Some wild striking there from Jacks.
Jacks connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Palmer shoots in and drives through. Jacks sprawls well.

Jacks misses with a series of wild punches.
Flap Jacks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jacks throws a nice looking combination but Palmer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Palmer is trying to work for a kimura but Jacks is defending well.
Jacks is trying to stand up here but Palmer is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Palmer wants to free his trapped foot but Jacks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Palmer is looking to take a break and control but Jacks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Palmer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jacks defends it well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Palmer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jacks wants to get back to his feet but Palmer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jacks is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jacks throws a right hand that Palmer ducks under and follows up with a left that Palmer also avoids with ease.

Palmer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jacks's guard.

Palmer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jacks pinned against the cage. Jacks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Jacks lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jacks misses with a few strikes there.
Jacks wants to land a leg kick but Palmer is out of range.

Palmer clinches up with Jacks and pushes him back against the cage.
Palmer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jacks avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Palmer is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jacks can't fight it off and eventually Palmer manages to take the fight to the floor. Jacks looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Palmer won't allow Jacks to get back to his feet.

Jacks is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Palmer gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jacks regains guard.

Jacks is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Palmer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Jacks throws a right hand that Palmer ducks under and follows up with a left that Palmer also avoids with ease.

Palmer wants to take a breather but Jacks is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Palmer is looking to pass Jacks's guard but actually Jacks recovers to full guard.

Palmer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jacks manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Palmer has Jacks in his guard.
Jacks wants to stand but Palmer is controlling his posture from full guard.

Palmer working for a triangle but Jacks defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zach Palmer showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Palmer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
