The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin throws a series of punches but Jelly avoids them all with ease.
Griffin fails with an attempt to clinch.

It looks like Peanut Jelly has been cut.

Jelly gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jelly wants to sweep here but Griffin controlling him for the moment.

Jelly has momentary wrist control but Griffin slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jelly is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jelly accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Griffin throws a big shot that misses.
Griffin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jelly changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Griffin tries to avoid it but Jelly manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Griffin to the ground. Griffin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jelly gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Griffin counters with a series of strikes. Jelly will be more careful next time no doubt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jelly.
Jelly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jelly is chipping away with strikes.
Griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jelly on the ground.

Jelly is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Griffin is trying to escape and Jelly transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Griffin is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jelly! Very nice indeed!
