PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dom Diego (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitka Boycheck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boycheck is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Парус. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dom Diego!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 41 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mitka Boycheck!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boycheck missing with a left hand there. Diego was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Diego has been working on his boxing with his coaches at North Star secret fist technique in the buildup to the fight.
Diego looks to land a combination but Boycheck avoids it well.
Mitka Boycheck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boycheck looks to clinch
and Diego makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Boycheck moves into range and clinches up with Diego.
Boycheck struggles to land a body shot inside as Diego controls his hands.

Diego's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boycheck throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Boycheck swings widly with a right hand
and Diego connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Diego feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Diego is in close to Boycheck's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Boycheck trying to keep a closed guard but Diego is proving a slippery customer.
Diego will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Diego cracks Boycheck with a solid left hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boycheck had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Diego defends it easily.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Diego's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Diego trying to control but Boycheck is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diego got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boycheck has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diego has managed to get both his arms back between Boycheck's legs - danger averted.

Check out the look on Diego's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Boycheck tries to bench press Diego off him but Diego keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boycheck is rocked!
Diego lands a strong strike to the head of Boycheck. That's dazed him! Diego looking to finish here. Boycheck is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Diego lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dom Diego!
A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Dom Diego made sure he mentioned King of Fists, along with how happy he was to win his fight.
