Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrey Lobtov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingsley Babajide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrey Lobtov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kingsley Babajide!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babajide misses with a double jab

and Lobtov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Lobtov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lobtov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Babajide knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lobtov is keen to just control but Babajide is a slippery customer.
Babajide is pressing down on Lobtov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Babajide drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lobtov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Babajide has Lobtov in his guard.

Lobtov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Babajide working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lobtov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lobtov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lobtov is pushing down on Babajide's leg trying to pass to half guard. Babajide is fighting to maintain full guard but Lobtov has managed to sneak the leg through.
Babajide tries to roll over but Lobtov keeps him under control.
Babajide moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Babajide is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lobtov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Babajide swivels though and keeps the full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Nice straight punches there by Babajide. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Babajide.
Lobtov misses with a takedown attempt - Babajide sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kingsley Babajide will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Babajide looks to score with a jab to the body but Lobtov is just out of range.

Babajide bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lobtov's head backwards.
Babajide shoots in and drives through. Lobtov sprawls well.
Lobtov half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Babajide closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lobtov did well to prevent Babajide getting side control.
Lobtov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Babajide's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Babajide's back!

Babajide is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Babajide felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Lobtov is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Babajide knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Babajide for a finish.
