The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Povetkin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hendrix really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hendrix jumps guard and drags Povetkin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hendrix wants to sweep here but Povetkin controlling him for the moment.
Hendrix is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Povetkin wants to pass the guard but Hendrix is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hendrix lands with a heel strike from the guard.

Hendrix has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Povetkin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Povetkin wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Hendrix's closed guard. He's half up but Hendrix has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Hendrix pivots and extends the arm, Povetkin falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Hendrix! Well done that man!
